I use photoshop for resizing and resolution mostly for my artist clients. My husband wants this picture of a mustang like his only his is black.... I can't remember how to render it black preserving the shiny areas.
Can anyone help??

I painted the red with a hard black brush set to color mode...it turned the red into a dark gray, then I duplicated it and set the layer mode to Multiply..turned it black.

You could also try selecting the red channel in hue/saturation and reducing the saturation and lightness to -100.
