|
|
I have worked very little with other graphics programs like GIMP2, Paint.Net Imagelys and Irfanview. But decided to try and learn Photoshop.
Now I was looking at a tutorial: http://www.tutorialhero.com/tutorial-46-color_overlays.php about overlays, and decided to try it out on the same image that he is using.
But for some reason while I am tracing the flower with the magnetic lasso tool, it suddenly auto completes, making a line directly across to my starting point.
This annoys me to no end as I have no clue as to why it happens. I have searched through Google, and others have raised the same wuestion, but none of the answers really clear up why it does that.
The Photoshop help just tells me that I can trace as I feel like and when I want to end, I press 'Enter'. There is no mention of sudden auto completes or any options where this is set.
Can any of you experts help me out with this? |

Just great :/ ... I found the answer on page two here. I guess I need to read closer next time .
Seems it is some sort of auto-refresh in Win7 that causes it to complete. Just need to run it in XP compatability mode |

Welcome to the forums TempestDK. You could try lowering/raising the tolerance of the magic wand tool (in the context sensitive menu bar) this may help in the trace. You can of course add to or take away from any selection you have made, so don't despair, use Shift to add and Control to take away. If the selection is not complete and you are unhappy with one of the anchor points Delete removes then incrementally. _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade! |

Yeah thanks ...I did read about adding and removing ... and seems that my problem was solved with the compatability mode
Managed to make this image ... my first try at anything with Photoshop. Turned out ok I guess. Practice makes perfect ... some day.
