When I take magic wand into white background area & click, it doesn't activate into the typical animated dotted line. Any reason why? Initially wanted to use the wand so I can use my gradient tool with a gradiated color added in background. It used to work, now it doesn't. Help!

What is the tool doing? Is it creating any dotted line at all? Check the tool's settings. Have you tried to reset the tool? |
