I'm using Photoshop Elements 6 and trying to figure out how to do this effect, but after much time googling I can't find how to do anything similar.

I want to do spheres (to make up a Mickey head like here) with a photo, with reflections, like a glass ball.

I've managed to get as far as making the spheres with photo, and spherizing them, but can't figure out how to do the reflections.

This is what I've done so far. Got a reflection using render > lens flare, but really want a better effect.

Reflections, all you need to do is copy what ever you want reflecting then "turn it around" so it's say back to front... then you need to change the Opacity / Fill (mess around with them really) till you get the nice reflection :-) i'll do a little tut now and reply here in an hour or two

Hello,

So let's get started... We have our iamge/wording... edited to what we want, but we want to reflect it... so write your writing and edit it to how you like.

Then copy and paste (Duplicate) it and turn it upside down (rotate)

Then as you see you got two wording "Funny Reflected" now you need to allign the letters to each other... you do this by 'Swooping' the sides so grab the left hand side move to the right, and vice versa.

Now there's always that annoying problem of the G where it is longer then the others....

So just move it up and edit it around,

make sure to edit the Opacity and play around with it till it gets a nice "Reflection" i used 17%

you can also use Italic to give it a longer effect...

Just make sure to play around and save everything you like.

Thanks, but I don't use MSN Frown

found this on adobe exchange, which is exactly the sort of thing I want to do. I've tried replacing the image they've used with one of my own, but it doesn't work, and there are no instructions of how to do each step. Had to attach jpg version here because of size limits, original psd had layers shown.

Are you referring to the shining light off the ball? If you are, then just use the Pen Tool with a shape filled with #ffffff. Then duplicating that layer and going to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Set it to maybe 10 to 30, whichever satisfies you, keep playing with it until you get it how you want. Then you have your shining effect.
