Hello, I'm new to the forum and thought I'd break myself in with this query:

I came accross this photographer, Laurant Nivalle, through Behance recently and his photography really caught my eye. His styling on some of his photography is very retro and was wondering if anyone knew of how this effect is achieved? You can check out the gallery here: http://laurentnivalle.fr/LMC2010.html
I know for a certain he's using HDR but find that Photomatix is usually best for that kind of thing. But how does he mute the hues to attain pastelle shades and bleaching?
Any ideas
Thanks
Poppa

Welcome to the forum, I think it's in the most part Split Toning. No time to explain now, but if you need clarification I will try to provide some info. later.

I don't think it is. I've checked out a couple of tuts and they don't match. It's definitely HDR with a bit of Lomo thrown with over saturated primary coloursand then cross processed. Any more thoughts?
