|
|
Hiya,
Please excuse me for being incredibly dim, but I'm new to photoshop and I'm hoping somebody out there can help me with an issue over how to add a transaprent overlay logo to the main photo.
What I want to do is take one of my photos of my pet parrot and turn it into a sort of tranparent overlay and copy / paste it quickly and easilly onto all my other photos..........sort of like a "this is my calling card" to stop other people pinching my photos (not that they are that good though).
I've seen on the net how to use the text copyright logo tool on CS2, but can't find anything anywhere about how to use one of your own photos..........is there an easy way to do this please?
Many thanks in advance.

1. Have your main photo open on a new layer.
2. Open up your pet parrot photo and drag it onto your original image. It should overlay it and be on layer 2.
3. In the bottom right corner (may be different depending on your setup) you should see the "Layers" tab. Select the layer with the parrot on it and adjust the Opacity value to your liking.
That should do it. If you have any problems, let me know and I'll see if I can get some screenshots to explain it better. _________________ Want to learn Photoshop in just a few hours? |

Hiya........thank for that, can't get it to work though, told you I was dim:-(
I opened the main photo as requested, then opened my parrot photo, but I just dont know how to drag it onto the main photo. Whenever I select the parrot photo it just makes the main phtoto disappear behind it, how od I get one to overlay on the other?
Thanks |

Hi if you still can't seem to get this working i can do a video tutorial for you im fairly new aswell and sometimes your interface can get messy and you can misplace things. |

If you're having troubles dragging it onto the other photo, you can also do it this way:
1. Have both images open in Photoshop. Select the Rectangular Marquee Tool.
2. Select the entire area of the parrot picture with it. Ctrl + X to cut it.
3. Go to your main image (make sure it's selected) and press Ctrl + V to paste the cut parrot image.
4. If you need to resize it, press Ctrl + T for the transform tool.
5. In the bottom right corner (may be different depending on your setup) you should see the "Layers" tab. Select the layer with the parrot on it and adjust the Opacity value to your liking.
Good luck! _________________ Want to learn Photoshop in just a few hours? |
