So I've got this photo of mine that I really like. My only concern is how can I make it look playful?
I was trying to look mischievous and cocky but my expression came out looking blank instead.
I was thinking I could make the eyes look more smoky/sultry. I was also thinking I could try to make my lips look a little darker and make them seem as though they were smirking, and well I'm open to all other suggestions really.
Does anyone have any tips or tutorials I could use?
Thanks!

There are so many ways to spice up a photo so I`ll do my best to explain the couple that I did. The first one I deleted the background using the magic eraser tool then selected the image using the magic wand tool. I then selected refine edges and feathered the selection by 3 pixels to take off the sharp edges.
Next I used the lasso tool to select the lips and in the images menu chose adjustments>hue/saturation, tick the colorize box and play with the colors until you get the look you are after. Repeat this process for the eyes. I added a twinkle to the eyes using a brush tip and drew the kapow with a custom shape and text tool. I created a new layer with a white fill for the background and the added a pattern overlay using a brick wall pattern I had created previously.
I used a third party plugin to achieve the lithograph effect in the second one but you can achieve a similar look using the built in artistic filters in CS4.
As I said there are unlimited things you can do to an image so make sure you save a copy of your original and then experiment as much as you can.
