I am making an 8x12 book with a lab of a wedding I have just shot. My lab gives me the dimensions of the book so I can make layouts to place in the book.Ex:

width: 16.77 inches
height: 11.46 inches
Trim: .12 inches (all the way around layout)
Safety Edge: .60 inches( ")

The safety and Trim are "imaginary lines" so that i know where my photos will be cut off.

I am asking if anyone knows how to put these imaginary lines in the layout so I know where my photos will be cut off at. Without them showing on the photo itself.

I have an attachment that I can't size down to give you an example and better understanding. But because it's too big I can't attach it. Let me know if I can email it to you! Really...I don't mind!

Any help would be much appreciated!!! Please help!!!

View > Rulers

Click on either ruler and drag a guide out onto your image where you please.

ok so it works GREAT, but my only problem is how do I get the ruler to be at an exact amount? I could guestimate but it needs to be exact for this project. Like one line needs to be .12 inches and the other line needs to be .60 inches. Help?

go to preference and under units and rulers you can specify the exact amount of your ruler spacing.
