Hi, I scanned a piece of paper with a lot of writing but the ink from the pen came out to a purplish black.
I would like to change everything on the page from purplish black to solid black and white colors only (no greys) in a way that does not blur or distort the picture and emphasize what would otherwise be unrecognizable spots on the paper.
I've tried adjusting levels and brightness/contrast but it distorts the picture, making it look like the ink is bleeding everywhere when it is really just a simple line. I have been working in RBG, but have tried CMYK as well. I'm not sure which is best for doing this though since I'm very new at photoshop.
Any and all help is appreciated. Thank you and happy holidays! |

Have you tried desaturating the image?
or
Curves
or
Selective color set to black move slider to the right.
or
Burn tool set to shadows it will blacken only the lines if the rest is light color.
or
duplicate layer and set the layer mode to lighten or screen.
or
try threshold (Image/adjusmtnet/threshold)
There are a lot of different things that "might" do it..if you post a sample, people here could narrow it down for you.

Sorry I'm text message impaired...but B/W to Colour I understand.
Try a search on this forum COLORIZING its a very popular request. But a quick way to colorize a BW image is to open a blank layer above the BW image, set the layer mode to COLOR then paint with the colors you want the image to be. (brush set to normal)
There are lots of other ways also..
