Hi zoobee welcome to the forum. Find yourself a blue camouflage texture from the internet, transform the height by 1/2 and lengthen it twice that of its original dimensions. Apply a warp filter and then duplicate layer and set blend mode to Lighten (you may or may not want the last step).
It's a fairly rough approximation of what you need, but with some tweaking you should get there. _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade! |

You know, I actually tried something similar with a black camo (which seemed to work better than the blue), but it still didn't look right. Plus I need to try and get the grey in the camo to look like the silver/pearl in the Ludwig finish. I need that exact finish and I can't find any hi-res patterns for it so I, unfortunately, need to recreate it.
Your example looks more promising than my attempt, though. Just how did you warp it? I'm using CS5. If I could get the pearl look added to it, it just might work. |

There are a few warp transformations in PS, from memory it was probably either Filter>Distort>Distortion of your choice.
I have had another thought though, use the actual texture from the drum and make it into a seamless pattern, I took a small sample from the centre of the drum and made it seamless HERE Obviously I did not do more than a 5min job, but I hope it demonstrates the technique. _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade! |

I started playing with that too after I replied! I think that may be the best way.
Something weird's happening though as I know you attached a pic to your previous post (I saw it once this morning), but 3 of the 4 times I've dropped by I couldn't see it.
If you posted a sample of the 5 min sample you did I cannot see it. The link you posted just goes to a nice tut on seamless tiling.
Thanks! |

ermm the piccie should be available at the bottom of my post and already been viewable - anyone else having problems?
As you say the link goes to the tutorial and the image should be at the bottom of my post.
