I was taking pictures of a friend while playing around with a new digital camera today, and sometimes, for whatever reason, it tints everything a strange color, as shown below:

Weird tint:

Correct colors:

I had this issue with a digital camera from long ago, and I remember there being a semi-automatic way of correcting the colors in an image where you could get the color profile of a corrected image and apply it to the original (I'm not talking about auto color, because that doesn't use a reference image). I am red/green colorblind so I can't use the color balance dialogue by myself successfully which is why I'm trying to figure out what that process was.

Hi there
Sounds like you're referring to the match colour command from the adjustments submenu.

Open up the 'correct' image and go to match colour. Use the save statistics button to save info about the luminance and colour of the image, then go ahead and open up the 'tinted' image and go back into replace colour. Now load up the statistics that you saved from the 'correct' image and you're done.

If you have lots of images to base on one 'corrected' version then it's possible to use an action to automate the task.

Hope this helps
