I am creating an ad for a client, and the model that is featured in this ad is dressed in a pair of plaid trousers. The client wants the model to dress in plain trousers in the shot. Is there any way that I can change the plaid fabric in the photograph of the model into a much solid fabric?

Hello Highlander, welcome to the forums.

What I would do in this case is get a stockphoto of a model wearing plain trousers, cut those out and place them into your design. You can use puppet warp to adjust the pose if needed.
