After using the quick select tool, and outlining an object, i went to edit and tried to copy, however I got an error stating "Could not complete the copy command because the selected area is empty" does anyone know what this error means and how to correct it? _________________ mvanmatre |

Hi mvanmatre. I would think your problem is that you are either using a Layer that is blank, containing no pixel data (look in the Layers Palette to check) or you may have less than 50% of the pixels selected, this happens with transparency effects in the selected layer. If it's neither of those, I guess some kind folk will put us both right _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade! |

The blank layer is most likely the problem.
You could get a "less than 50% of the pixels are selected so you will not see the selection edge"-warning when your feather is way up, but you will still be able to copy and paste (a very light and transparent proportion of the original).
So I would check in my layers palette, like thehermit suggests. |
