I have an image that is 2500px x 3600px (ish), it is a 240dpi file, I select crop tool and input 1200px x 1000px and 240 in the context sensitive menu, I now drag a crop area and instead of just a box of specific dimensions I get to drag the bounding box and it only seems to stay in proportion to my scale and not the exact dimensions specified. In effect I can drag the crop box outside the dimensions of the image, which seems to give a lie to the exact dimensions I in-putted - so, what gives?
Am I going mental and should I take Photoshop 101?
And if anyone says reset your pref file..... ![Mad](images/smiles/icon_mad.gif) _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade! |

When you set the size and resolution with the crop tool, it will create those dimensions where you drag and maintain the aspect. Whether it is the entire image, just a section or even beyond the image. |
