Hey I am a complete photoshop noob. I was wondering if there is a way I can erase the text on this picture so it looks like there was no text there. Is there some kind of merging tool I can use? Thanks in advance.

The tool of choice here would be the healing brush tool.
1. Select the healing brush tool.
2. hold [ALT] and click somewhere on your image that you wish to copy from
3. Now paint over the words. (it will look weird at first but when you release the mouse button it will "heal" the areas you painted over)
Note: You may need to work at it a little to make it look just right. Just keep painting over spots you want to erase.
Also, the size of the Healing Brush Tool can be adjusted just like the normal Brush Tool.
