Alright, the title is confusing but I have no idea what else I could make up.
So anyway, I am now starting to photoshop again, as I have not done that for long time. I have this idea for an amazing game (sure, we've all had), and well, I'm making a GDD for producers currently.
However, I'm 101% sure that nobody will even consider for half a second the idea, unless I can have a visual material what I am talking about.
The problem is, I have currently a mouse, and no tablet to use. ( I can't afford one, as I go to school currently and no chance for a job. )
So, there is two questions I have. First one is, should I even try it out with mouse? Can I create actually impressive photos from sketch, just by using mouse?
And second one, does anybody have guides to start out that they could recommend? Anything from drawing sketches, to shadowing, and anything advanced for along the lines of "making picture more alive" et cetera.

You can still draw believable and creative characters with the mouse, if you are a natural artist then it goes without saying you will adapt to the mouse and learn the intricacies of Photoshop to accommodate. The basics are get a graphic tablet if the ratio vs. makes it worth it.
Here's a couple of links to perhaps spark the creativity fuse:
