Dear digital artists,
Situation
With a friend I’m planning an initiative which is supposed to be fun for the participants and raise money for charities about children. We are quite ambitious and are involving several partners to make this a success: Unicef as possible first cause, a professional web developer, people that make a short promo movie, student associations that will organize related events, ...
We want to launch one webpage that summarizes the whole idea and starts spreading the message (helped by a Facebook page of course). In the meantime, a fully functional website will be developed and sponsors will be found to finance it.
Draft design
Below you’ll find a screenshot of a very rough draft that I’ve made for the lay-out of the front page (which will include a few links to simple other pages). In order to show people we will organize this event decently, it is crucial that this webpage looks brilliant:
- Simple and clean
- Smart positioning and sizing of elements
- A couple (not too many) of fancy looking features
As you can see, I have no talent for the esthetics (choice of colors, …). My draft is limited to choice and positioning of wording. The rest I leave up to the creativity of the designer.
Question
Could anyone of you convert my draft in a cool design? It would be good if you had experience with modern web design, since that would help to get the message across effectively.
In return, you’ll get a reference at the bottom of the page “design by xxx + link to your website”. This page could be a nice way for you to showcase your skills. At the same time, you’re supporting a good cause. Feel free to propose other ways of compensation.
I tried to keep this post short but please let me know if you would like further information about the project. Suggestions about the idea in general are also welcome, even though that is probably difficult based on the limited information I provided.
You can contact me at garfinator [at] gmail.com or by replying to this message.
Kindest regards,
Alexander
