i have created all the images which i want to animate. how do i get them into the animation timeline window?

Put your images into layers. Open the animation window, click the add frame icon (arrow). Turn on just the frame you want to use, turn off frames you don't want.

hi,
i see the hermit already gave you the anwer you need....

this is a video tutorial that i keep around in case i forget things, which i do... and it shows start to finish making animated gif....
