Ok, so I'm new to ps and I downloaded cs3 but when i went to use a brush, no matter what color I had the foreground color set to, the only color the brush would use would be white. Can someone help me?

I made the background black and then changed both colors to red as you can see in the picture but it only comes out in white, as you can also see. |

And also when I switch to the eraser and use it, it makes color, and doesn't erase. |

Looks like you have the "history brush" selected. If your image started with a white bkgd, white would be history.
I'm sorry. I don't use the eraser tool, so I can't help you there.
Good luck,

Hey SupaPhreak,
The eraser issue is down to you working on the background layer.
The background layer can't support transparency, so if you attempt to erase it you'll get whatever colour the background swatch is.
If you want to erase down to transparency then switch the background layer over to a regular layer by holding down the Alt key on the keyboard and double clicking the background layer icon.
Hope this helps _________________ Matt
