Color Replacement Not Working!

I just bought a copy of CS4 and for some reason the color replacement tool is not working properly at all! I'm trying to go from a puke green to a rich evergreen color (website button) and whenever I use it, it applies a neon green instead!

I even tried using hex color codes and no luck. This worked in a few other images I had edited but not now. Can someone help me? Thanks!
