Anyone out there fancies a game of 1 on 1 perhaps along the lines of rule set 2?
Let me know and we can discuss a starter theme....

Hi Patrick

Thanks for the welcome, I thought for a minute there I had a taker for my offer of a game...

I have to wonder is PS Tennis a 'dying' game? I'm very surprised at the lack of 'live' games on the forum (and T'internet in general) and also the fact that I've had no responses to my game.

I used to play this a couple of years ago and the web was full of good strong games Confused Confused Confused

It sounds interesting! Never heard of it, but it sounds like a sort of 'duel-collab'? What are the rules, I might just be up for a round? :)

Hi SSO
The rules are posted as a 'Sticky' at the head of the Manipulation Forum, but I have copied them in here for your convenience...

PhotoshopForums.com Photoshop Tennis Rule Set #2

Match Description:

This type of match is a 1 vs. 1 competition, where each competitor must build off the previous submitted image.

Rules:

1. The challenger must provide an image for the accepting competitor to work with.

2. The challenger may call out a specific user, but that user does not have to accept. Should the challenged user decline, another user may step forward unless the challenger withdrawals.

3. Once a match is in progress, only the two people competing are permitted to post images in that topic. Other users may comment and post in the topic as spectators.

4. Each competitor has to use the entire previous image in their return.

5. Each competitor has 48 hours to submit a return to the previous post. If a competitor does not post a return in time, they forfeit the match.

6. The challenger sets how many turns each player will take. The starting image posted by the challenger is not considered a turn.

7. When each competitor has used all of his/her turns, the winner is declared by a public vote.

8. Voting lasts for 48 hours, starting from the time of the last turn. Each user may only vote once.

9. The subject for the match must state which users are participating and what set of rules (if any) are being used. The challenger’s name must go first and the accepting competitor’s name must go second. For example: John vs. Bill - #2. #2 refers to the rule set being utilized in the match.

10. All posts are still subject to our User Guidelines.

Im sure these are only meant to give a bit of structure to the game, rather than being hard & fast rules that must adhered to

Let me know if your still up for a 'knock' and we can discuss a theme & starting image.

Sure thing, sounds like a good, fun game!

Have you made any thoughts on what image/theme we can be doing?

And, another question, can the competitors do what ever they want to the image, or is it narrowed down to something? Maybe something we agree on, or....??

In terms of theme, personally I don't think that sci-fi and cartoon characters etc have a place within a photo, unless it was say on a poster or tv screen within the picture, where you might genuinely see that. So shall we just say the theme is ' Keep It Real'.

To answer your other question, yes you can do pretty much anything you feel to do, add an element, take something out (up to a limit of 25%) change something.

Shall we commit to 5 returns each initially and see how it goes from there.

I'm not 100% sure on the mechanics of actually posting the images on this forum, but I will select a starting image and have a go at getting that posted.

Don't forget the 'rules' are really just a guide, so I don't expect we will be disqualifying each other if we have not made the reply by 48 hours etc as after all this is intended to be a fun pastime.

I'll go find an image then.

Hi folks. I have also thought it an oft underused section of the forums, I use the excuse that I don't have the time, but secretly I know I probably do.

Keep it real is a great concept for the battle/war and should help focus concepts.

Keep it clean and no biting! :)
