Yes I am faily a new beginner to Photoshop. And was in the local Computer store today looking at diffrent programs. And I run across the Adobe photoshop Elements 6. It was not a bad price I guess. Around $ 100.00. But anyway I was wondering if any of you have used it. Or know how it might compare to other Photoshops, like CS3 & etc. I am not trying to be a professional at it. But I kind of like being a little creative with pictures and etc. I know most of the basis of photoshop, like croping, changing resolutions, adjusting and etc. I am fair. But like to get my own program so I can study and do more. Maybe doing layers, watermarks ,transparencies etc. Do you think Elements 6 is a good program to start out with. Will it do most things a beginner will be happy with. I figured I may start out with some small version of Photoshop then maybe in a year if things go right jump up to the more pro versions of Photoshop.like CS3.Do you think most stuff can be done using the elements 6 version. Or would another program be better?
THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR HELP AND INFO !!

Hey Jasper,

I have Elements 6 on my laptop and I think it's superb. Considering it costs a fraction of the price you'd have to pay to get the full version of Photoshop (CS3), Adobe have sneaked in some really great features and made the software extremely user friendly.

I'd say it would be an excellent place to start if you want to learn more on image editing, I know a few people who are fairly advanced users that didn't need to upgrade once they'd mastered Elements.

Let me know if you have any more questions!
