I discovered the "puppet warp tool" in Photoshop CS5. It's similar to the liquefy filter but offers more accuracy.

If any of you have used it before please tell me what you found it useful for

I used it to give my kid pointy elf ears for her facebook profile... a bit of a clumsy first attempt but her friends like it...

I tried converting a frowning face into a smiley one by removing the frown lines with the healing brush then making the corners of the mouth go up a bit. I coud have done the same with the liquefy tooll.
