Hi everyone,

I have been asked to produce a series of digital drawings at 60 x 40 inches @ 300dpi for limited edition large format prints. The publisher requires the digital size to be the same as the print size as they will be used as fine art prints.

I am having some performance issues with Photoshop cs3. It takes about 5-10 seconds for Photoshop to draw the gestures / lines after I have drawn them on my tablet. This is really slowing me down as I cannot make fast spontaneous marks - I have to draw at a snails pace - which is fine for some marks but not for others.

I have set PS to use 60% ( 1024mb ) ram and the cache is set at 6 - all brushes are quite basic with smoothing, dual brush..etc unchecked. My system is a dual core 6700 o/c to 3ghz, 4 gb ram ( 3gb seen by vista 32 bit ), raptor 10K 74gb system harddrive, 340 gb harddrive, nvidia 8800 640mb gts videocard, wacom A3 wide tablet.

Any ideas on how to make the drawing experience smooth and more fluid?

Any suggestions would be warmly appreciated.
