Hi, I am very new to photoshop and am looking to create a website. I am looking to try make it as interesting but clean and proffessional looking as possible. I am currently having problems with the basics like the background, as I have been told to create one part of the background anywhere between 1-10pixels wide then do something with it after?, i guess tile it across or something?. If anyone has macromedia captivate and can create some tut videos for me, it would be greatly appreciated , if you e-mail me I will find an example of what I am looking for and if you can help.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, Many Thanks
Andy

Easiest thing to do is to create the initial layout
in PS. then you slice or chop the image up into pieces.
When you get the layout or look down and have troubles
slicing or as you said the background then I am sure
someone can help you out.
But as for getting a background image into a webpage that
is easy, and there's several ways you can do this.
For example a site I recently did for a client had a BG image of
1px by 780px. My html code was in the Head tag and went like this
body { font: 83% arial, verdana, sans-serif; background: url(images/bg.gif); margin: 0; padding: 0 }
As for what looks best that is up to you.
my 2 cents |
