Photoshop offers a variety of tools for selections and its really a case by case cal on what the best tool for the job is.
There are some set-form selection tools that can easily create rectangular or elliptical selections. So use them when you have one of those shapes to select
Then there are the magic wand, quick selection and color select (latter via the select menu on top). Which work best to make rough selections based on colour.
Then there are multiple lasso tools that can create selections in any shape possible.
Alternatively, one could also use the path tools as the pen tool and the shapetool to create a path and turn that path into a selection. _________________ Bart J.A.H. de Brouwer |

That depends on what you want to select exactly. There are many selection tools that you can use inside of photoshop and one of the easiest ones to use is the quick selection tool- if you want to select a certain color all throughout your image without getting other colors involved you can use the magic wand tool and change the settings according to the sensitivity of your color selection. If you want just a rough selection you can use the magnetic or lasso tool as well. Hope this helps! |
