Hi guys,
Im working on the calendar that is 8.5x11. Im going to order it from a company. The thing is i started working on each page and totally forgot about resolution, now all my pages well half of my work is saved as 72px resolution. I have both original photoshop file and jpg saved.
My question is how can i change the resolution to 300px keeping the same work i already did. Or do i have to start from the begining, and im not too much familiar with all this resolution stuff i know for the web its good at 72px but for printing it has to be 300px.
When i copy and paste picture on a new layer with 300px resolution the picture becomes smaller..that's when i don't understand should i expand it? Would i loose the resolution by doing that?
If someone is familiar with all this stuff please help!

Thanks

Go to image/size make sure the resample image box is ticked and where it says resolution type in 300, and click ok, it should stay 11.5x8 but at 300 ppi now. As for the quality, you might be ok or you might not, it depends on a lot of factors, try it and see. I just did a quick test and mine looked ok at that size, but I'm not using any templates just text and an image. Wayne

Just a quick add to the topic.

I've noticed that PS(CS2) does a horrible job with text printing at a 24x36inch size. Would indesign be a better tool to layout text?

Hey.

Just make sure your sampling method is set to Bicubic Sharper - it heps with the lossiness. I'd also apply a Highpass-sharpening filter jobbie afterwards.

This may also help a lot. If the job is not going to be printer on super glossy paper, you may try to boost it up to 150 - 200 ppi. The quality loss is significantly less, and the resolution is still good enough to look good when printed....
