Is there a way to bring my current resume, which has been saved in an MS Word:mac file, into Photoshop where I can keep it's current format and layout and just drop in some images of my artwork? I think it'll make it far more interesting than the resumes I'm used to seeing. |

No there is not a way to do what you are wanting to do because photoshop is a graphics program and not a word processor, BUT what you can do is import the graphics from PHOTOSHOP into MSword. It is the same thing, but sort of in reverse of what you are looking for. You can import .jpgs or .gifs into a word file. Did you know that?
Good luck! _________________ Qubert |

yes you can do this easily.
in word go to print, and if you have adobe acrobat (full program not just adobe reader) installed you will be able to print you doc as a pdf.
then open the pdf in photoshop. when opening it select 300 dpi in the dialogue box.
if you dont have adobe acrobat then go and get pdf creator from sourceforge. you'll find it at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/
it is open source, which means its free. it is also free of spyware and such like (everything from sourceforge is clean). i've used it and it works.
hold on - i just noticed you are on a mac. i dunno if there is a mac version of pdf creator but i'm sure someone must have a free/open source version for the mac. just use google. |

Thanks... I know, I've done all of that but it starts pushing the type all over the place. The image file takes up type space... so with an existing document, unless you've allotted for space to have an image placed there... it moves your type around. As my resume currently fills 2 complete pages, I needed to be able to place imagery in specific spots where the type has gaps and where it won't lengthen my resume to 3 pages. Every time I add graphics, my resume grows in length. Very frustrating... I've learned my lesson! |
