hey... i tried to follow it but i dont think it worked right...

can someone explain in more detail... or explain a different way?

i really want it to be my initials "BJ" and sorta transparent...
any help will do

um, yeah, channels confuse me, too. I would just make a new layer with the pattern applied to it, and group it with you JB layer. (put the patterned layer above the JB and then alt-colick on the line between the two.) I haven't actually done as datameister said it, but I think that would do the same thing.

As data said, if you don't care too much about the watermrk as protection of your intellectual property bu just want to have your initials on it, just type out JB in white text and turn the opacity down guite a bit.

Okay
Use the text tool with forground set to black
Type what you want as watermark
Select the text layer and set blending to Lighten
The text should disappear
Click on the little f in the circle at the bottom of the layers pallette
Tick the bevel and emboss box and that's it
