Is it possible to convert a psd file created in photoshop 8.0 (CS) to a psd file that is compatible with photoshop 7.0. The way I'm currently doing it is causing me to lose the layers and I really need to keep the layers. |

This may be a stretch as I do not have Photoshop CS, but I recently learned that Illustrator CS moved the saving down options to the Export menu.
Maybe you could give that a try in case Adobe's developers did this across the board? |

No, it's not an option in export. That only allows me to export layers to Illustrator, which I don't have. Any other suggestions? |

When you save files in CS you are given the opportunity to make them backwards compatible to older versions of Photoshop.
New features of CS such as nested layer sets will obviously confuse PS7 and earlier, however it will sort them out in a fashion automatically. Other things such as text needed to be updated for vector output may also occur, but there is no reason for the layers not to transfer correctly between the programs bar the above and a few others. _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade! |
