hi, i was wondering how can i make shadows other than the layer style ?
any help greatly appreciated. thanks. derek

-Duplicate the layer that you want to make a shadow for
-Ctrl+Click on the eye in the layer pallet next to the new layer
-Fill with black
-Deselect
-Filters>Blur>Gausian Blur
-Adjust to taste
-Move new layer to below the original
-Select the move tool and move the shadow into place (Nudge 1px at a time with arrow keys. 10px with Shift and arrow keys)

Make sense? There are other ways, I'm sure.

dave! you are awesome. those steps are accurate and great. i followed them and now i can make awesome shape shadows . so THANKS very much. derek Big Wink
