This Facebook page posts edited pictures of basketball players, and it's pretty cool. Someone on YouTube made a tutorial but it was hard to understand what they were saying or doing. Their Facebook page has pictures or instagram, it's called beyond the buzzer, help would be awesome

I made a cut out of the part I wanted to have in colour when.. As I didn't prepare the tut (noob mistake) I tried the quick slection tool first but as it didn't work I switched to the pentool and fast forwarded the video to the point I had a path.. I made a selection from the path and went to select -> refine selection and changed the output to new layer with layermask..

Hope that helps you out..

(Btw Im gonna redo the tut this weekend as when I eatched it after yout post it was poorly brought and it seemed to go too quickly to have an easy to follow tutorial.. Just learning to teach I guess)

Quick question, but does anybody know how to make photos like the user Thorolgraffix?

Here is the link to his work:

His work seems to be more hi-def and "shinier" than beyondthebuzzers. Any help is greatly appreciated

In all honesty: the effects on those photos - and most likely the ones from beyondthebuzzer as well - are made with a plugin (not sure which one but I'm thinking one of the Topaz ones - adjust or a combination of denoise and simplify). Thorol most likely has the plug in and started playing around with it until he 'hit' that effect. Most likely saved that as a preset and every time he will do a photo he will load the preset and tweak it till his liking.

The YouTube tutorial I made was a rough indication on 'how-to' without the use of any third party plugins but will never be able to achieve the exact same effect as it's only guesswork what the plug in does.

If your interested in the Topaz plugins you might want to check out http://www.topazlabs.com. All their plug-ins have a 30 day free trial so you will be able to figure out if there's one to your liking.[/url]
