Could someone please assist me with getting a 3D effect.
I have attached before and after images and would like the steps on how to get the effect in the after.jpg
I have played around with the Layer style tools, but just can't seem to duplicate it as shown.
Help for this PS newbie would be much appreciated.

Try the bevel and emboss filters, it does'nt look too complicated or involved..

that particular effect is unnatrural looking, and im suere its dont just with the brush, no shortcut. innder shadow or bevel emboss is the best way, you can select which angle you want the light to be at.
