Hi,

I am relatively new to Photoshop being a previous user of Gimp. I made a new gradient and saved it but now I can't load it back into photoshop. It is in the gradient folder but does not show up on my list of gradients. Does anyone have any idea of what could be preventing me from loading my gradient? Thanks! Confused

Sounds like you saved it to a file; which i think just saves all you loaded gradients. I have some thing to ask you, when you "Saved" it what did you press "New" Or "Save"?

If you pressed "New" then that all i know.

In case you havent worked this out yet or for anyone else that was wanting the answer, after you save a new brush or gradient or whatever if it doesnt appear in your gradient list then you need to load it.
edit>preset manager then select gradients from the drop down menu and click on load. Select your gradient then press done.

I wanted to say that but i think it was just for CS4. I'm not very clear on what versions can and can't do.

I'll post my Gradient Tool problem here as well... I was just using the gradient tool minutes ago and it worked fine now everytime I try to use it nothing happens... the template stays white.... but if I scribble on it with the brush tool or something then use the gradient tool it still doesn't show up but the brush scribbles fade slightly like the gradient is on some transparent layer... Someone said to change to 32bits/channel but it won't let me... I'll probably figure this out before I get a response but just in case I thought I'd post this... It's really bothering me...

I had i problem like that and I'd hate to ask this but is the opacity at 100% cause this happen to my when all my gradients stop working. Chances are its not but i feel it would not hurt to check.

Hahaha... I understand why you would ask that, it's one of the first things I checked... I figured it out eventually and it's working fine now... I would post how I fixed the problem but, sitting here now, I can't remember what I did... I'm new to Photoshop and have several problems already... So they're all kind of a blur...
