Greetings,

First of all I want to say that I'm new to these forums and that I'm still learning the art of photoshop so don't be too rough on me :]

I've been told by my class teacher that the artistic filter on the couple doesn't fit with the rest of the image. She suggested to remove the filter (which I don't really want) or to paint certain parts of the image in red (for example the dragon and certain parts of the dress etc).

Personally I would like to keep the whole image black and white (I gave the little hearts a glow just to make my teacher happy) but I'm open to any kind of ideas really.

Feel free to tell me what you would change/add. Thanks in advance!

A dragon at that distance would be about 1,500 feet tall, give or take 500 feet. Just sayin'..

Haha I know right. He could be THE Dragon Lord, and.. those aren't particular small you know. Nah, I know. You've got a point. Maybe I'll place him on another rock or just reduce his size.

I'm no expert in dragons, so I will have to defer to the experts...

I do however agree with your teacher, I also think that the filter effect is off kilter with the rest of the composition. I don't necessarily agree with the 'paint it red' theory either, I see where she is coming from, but in my opinion it's twee and staid, it's the equivalent of taking a B&W photo and just leaving the red lipstick in a portrait (might as well go all out 80's and have a tennis player with her bum out).

For my taste the background mountains are too blurred compared to the foreground, and the dragon is too in focus, amongst other things...

I mean we all know dragons are three times the mass of six krakens, divided by two godzuki's :)

I could add other fantasy elements to the picture so that the dragon doesn't catch too much attention. After all it's me and my gf on the pic who are supposed to be the center of attention. Maybe I should have added that in my first post. So as long as they stay the whole environment is allowed to change. I'll also keep in mind to sharpen the mountains.

I like the house on the foreground with mountains on the background but maybe I should add more peaceful elements to the foreground while adding more chaos to the background (it's just an idea). At least I'm having more inspiration than yesterday. Be free to bash my ideas though!

@4Dragons: Thanks for the effort but I don't really like how I look on the picture. My clothes look way too flat.

* the B/W image is good as it is, you don't need to add color
*please remove the dragon, I initially thought it was smoke coming out of the "volcano"
* Keep the background blurred and the two characters sharp, there's a lot going on in the picture so you need to have the characters sharp to tell the viewer's eye where to look
* A very minor point; why is there a "marching ants" like effect around your graphic? It's as if you "selected" the whole graphic in Photoshop and then pressed "print screen" and saved the result

I'm not too sure what to do yet..

@Netaddict: The marching ants are just a forum thingy, click on the image to see the actual size (without marching ants). Maybe the image is way too small on your screen, other than that I can't see how you could mistake the dragon for smoke.

It's nice just keep the original colors of the picture :))) and not make it black and white. Even thou making it Black and white looks okay.
