Hello! I am currently in the process of creating the front and back cover page for a product booklet. Here is what I have so far:

http://i.imgur.com/5vr16.jpg

The right side is obviously the front, and the stripes in the corner are a custom die cut I plan on using as a tabbing system for the pages of booklet. (as far as the logistics go for this system, I am happy with it and it works pretty seamlessly)

First, I would love feedback on the overall look and feel - I am going for a sort of grungy, rugged look because we are an equipment rental company. Thoughts, improvements?

I haven't gotten to a few thing on this yet, but I plan adding a small logo, phone number, and website pretty small on the backside in the lower middle.

As far as the front - I have been trying to find a way to put the book title (either 'rental brochure' or 'line card' or 'product book') at about 8" or 8.5" towards the bottom, but have been unsuccessful finding a way to make it 'work' without using the same metal plate pattern at the top, which I don't want to do. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Thanks and all the critiques and criticism is greatly appreciated.[/url]

Just my opinion but...

It looks too dark and ominous to me. The words obviously say "rentals", but other than that I wouldn't know it's about equipment rental, and certainly not what kind.

It's usually a good idea to actually show the product(s) on the cover. A picture is worth a thousand words.

It's All American Rentals and your color choice is red, white and black. Wouldn't red, white and blue more in keeping with American image?

hi,
on that dark stripe to me that look like a blue only extremely dark blue maybe brighten it alittle bit...

overall i sort of like it....

for text i was thinking that maybe shiny burnish matallic text might work...

i sort of lean toward some graphics.... guys are generally visual..... smiling...

a few months ago i saw this one brochure.... it look like it had a metal ribbed top with dark tones and just few shiny tools on the ribbed top... possibly that would work... and still maintain that burnish brushed metal background you have.
