Hi there,
I have a problem that just started. Let's say I have a picture of a tire, and I want to clip it out of the background for use in another document. I use the pen tool and clip around the tire, as well as inside. When I finish it, I save it as Path 1 and make it a clipping path.
Next, I select it from my Paths menu. Only the outside gets selected and not the inside. This just started happening yesterday afternoon. It has also happened to my coworkers. No one here knows how to get it back to selecting everything. I am using Photoshop CS, but also had this problem in PS 7. One day it wokrs fine, the next day it doesn't.
Any help? I had someone tell me to delete my PS preferences file, and re-boot. I tried that, but no luck.
Any suggestions would be great!
Thanks

Check your shape pen tool options. It sounds like you want to have it set to “subtract from path area” when creating paths inside the tree path. |

I just looked at that... add to path is clicked on.
Any other ideas?
It is just plain weird

Right. From the description of your problem, it sounds like you would want “Subtract From Path Area” (not Add to Path) when drawing the inside circle of the tire. |
