The puppy pulled my camera off a table and it broke. I am going to replace with a digital SLR. Budget $700. Thinking about Nikon or Canon. Any suggestions? Model, etc. Please say why !
Thanks

Im not sure but i think you're gonna be limited by your budget if you go the nikon way.
I would go for Canon so i can buy at the same time a better lens (wich is as much important as the camera actually)

A lot of people say, nikon is better than canon when it comes to dslr while canon is better off for digicams only. So, better go to nikon, but for me. Its not really the camera that gives a great shot, its the person behind it.

I will recommend you to go for Nikon D90. This gives beautiful results. The price of this model also been reduced a lot.

Have to agree. I have a Canon and if you can't afford a Nikon, it's the way to go.
