ok.

apparently it's the zoom level...

whenever I'm up to the maximum of 3200% (I know, that's a lot :) ) this problem occurs.

The blank layer is most likely the problem.

You could get a "less than 50% of the pixels are selected so you will not see the selection edge"-warning when your feather is way up, but you ...
