Do you know how to do an image grab or copy the image somehow .. if so open it in photoshop so you have a reference. First up go to File > New .. in the dialogue box type a name for your image and put in 520 x 542. Then in your layers tab .. create a new layer by CTRL/CMD shift N. You can name this layer black background .. Click ok in the dialogue box Next grab your marquee tool and draw the black box about 90 pixels from the top. Make sure you have the default black and white colour showing by pressing D and then press option/alt .. delete .. to fill it with black.

Are you using windows or a mac? Let me know how you go so far .. so as I know whether you can follow.

sorry.. i changed my mind, i'm not exactly replicating the image. here's what i want to do: set an image as a background, place another image and texts on the background, place a disclaimer at the bottom.

Ok open the image in photoshop and resize it to the size you want. In your layers tab you will notice an opacity box .. you can lighten the image this way. Create a new layer .. not sure of your photoshop skills so dont know how much detail to go into but it is getting late here and I am ready to go to bed .. so this will have to be quick. Are you using windows?
