Hello all photoshop users. I'm an amature user and in need of some help.
ill try and keep my question as simple as possible.
i'm trying to use the gradient tool. im adding gradients to sold colour shape jpg's. for instance i have a jpeg that is a green square.
i want to use the Graditent tool to give a gradient effect to my jpeg, however when i apply a gradient it is always grayscale, no matter what colour the image! can this be changed to colour? if so how?
in other words, is it possible to make my green square have a green gradient effect?
any comments much appreciated. im sure there is a simple answer to this! im afraid my photshop knowlage s not that vast...yet.
many thanks |

Hi there, and welcome to the site.
When you activate the gradient tool you should see some options appear at the top of the screen (just underneath the application menus). If you click the gradient swatch it will open up some more options. Hover the mouse above the individual swatches and you'll see their names pop up. You'll want the foreground to background one. Now you can set your foreground and background colours in the toolbox to work in the gradient.
Hope that helps _________________ Matt
