Hi,
I need to batch optimize for the web a big amount of images contained in a two level folder structure.
By using Using Automate - Batch and running an action that exports the images using 'Save for Web & Devices', I can optimize all the images contained in my folder (including all sub folders). The problem is that they have to export into a single folder in my desktop (the path has to be indicated when creating the action and saving the image in 'Save for Web & Devices'.
I guess the solution would be to save the files in their original location, replacing the original file with the optimized one, keeping the original folder structure.
Any ideas on how to achieve this?

Hi JL,
In case the path has been defined in the action, just check "include All Subfolders" in the Batch dialog and choose "Destination: None"

Hi Andrei,
Thanks for the prompt response.
The path to EXPORT the file is required in the action if I use 'SAVE FOR WEB' (former Image Ready). Hence the problem maintaining a folder structure during the batch process.

So, you want to export 2 folders to 2 folders, right? Why not just do it in 2 passes?
That is:
- Uncheck "Include All Subfolders" in the Batch dialog
- Process the main folder
- Edit the path in your action
- Process the subfolder

Andrei,
The reason I need to automate the process is because the images are divided in 30 to 40 folders. Not a problem doing it once, I've been using the method you suggest below. But I really need to automate this as soon as possible, since most of the projects involve that amount of folders.

Do it in 40 passes.. Why not?
For example, record Batch-processing to action and (optionally) assign to it a keyboard shortcut.
So you can export a folder with one key press and then move it to a different location with your file manager (such as Total Commander).
